Only Human ~ Sylvain Neuvel

            I finally have the ending! Let’s pause for a second to fully appreciate a full-cast audiobook! I just can not get enough of them! In addition, I greatly enjoyed the format of this series. It helps immerse you into the world rather than just through the main character’s or a few characters’ point of view. 

            I greatly enjoyed Katherine Lebedev’s. Perhaps the audiobook elevated this character for me, but I very much enjoyed her scenes. She had me feeling so many emotions in reaction to her actions. She made me laugh; I also wanted to punch her but then I also understood her motives behind those same actions that I didn't agree with. 

I have very much enjoyed the journey that this series offered. This last book had me thinking a lot about the political and social aspects with both worlds even after I had finished the book. And the ending! While the author has said this is the last book in the series, he left the ending to where we could imagine the series continuing on. It was not a cliffhanger but it allowed for my mind to wander to several possible further timelines, which I always find enjoyable.

Overall, I am glad I read this book to complete the series. I quite enjoyed the book and the series overall. The characters were relatable, the writing is wonderful, the plot is intriguing and keeps you wanting more, and the audiobook!!! (I just cannot say it enough; pick up these audiobooks!)!!!

I highly recommend this book series to anyone who enjoys science fiction; alternate formats, full cast audiobooks, and especially fans of Illuminae!
